The program: Read Walt Disney’s Donald Duck and the One Bear; next, rapidly proceed to Thomas Pynchon’s Vineland; then, rapidly return to Walt Disney’s Donald Duck and the One Bear.

The Monster's Ring by Bruce Coville. Bullied kid gets a magic ring that turns him into a monster. Grows wings, fangs, fur. Scares bully but also struggles with urge to remain a monster.

Books that are easy but still fun for adults to read. And in that category I think "Alice in Wonderland" is the best one. It's silly and easy, but there are jokes that children won't get. It's not purely a kids book.
