Was NewWrapper supposed to return `func(Handler) Handler` instead of `func(Handler) HandlerFunc`? The former is what all of the http libraries expect. so this middleware can't be used with say, chi

An http . HandlerFunc implements http . Handler - so you are getting a Handler back as well. If you need to convert the function type it should be trivial.

Sure, but it is awkward, as you need a wrapper func to convert from func to interface: go.dev/play/p/iS9jV...
