On today’s visit to the fleamarkets I saw just one mechanical calculator, a good-looking Triumphator CRN2 pinwheel machine. These were made in Leipzig, East Germany, from about 1958 to about 1964.

I remember spotting a mechanical calculator at primary school in a classroom store cupboard. Our form teacher got it out and demonstrated it to the class. It must have been there years, still worked just fine and, more to the point, my teacher knew how to use it.

Nice. Was it a pinwheel type of machine? I know of a teacher who has a few mechanical calculators and a lot of addiators and uses them for teaching . It can work very well

It was a fair few years ago and my knowledge of such things is limited. It look quite similar to the one you posted about, which brought back the memory. I can see how it could be useful to demonstrate maths, number columns etc.
