me, a game developer: I think prices going up for games is good. game devs need to eat too, and game prices have become stagnant while everything else has gone up in price, and me, also a gamer: wait, sorry, mario kart costs HOW MYUCH

Exactly my mentality Game developers need to eat BUT SO DO I Definitely not gonna be buying the switch 2 if all the games are 80 dollars. I financially CANNOT support that.

No, there are legitmately a lot of factors that go into this, Yes bringing up the cost "Can" make money for shareholds, but not if it scares everyone off, but the real cost of dev labor would put most AAA games at around 80-90 dollars now, games have been undervalued, buuttt this leap is too much

too soon. The reason why Season passes exist is because games Should be worth more and devs/publishes had to compensate, and this goes for indie games. 15-20 dollars for most indie games is not good or sustainable but they cant bring up their prices due to customer expectations and entitlement.

And like, im not gonna defend Nintendo's bad business practices, BUT Nintendo is still one of the only game dev studios in the biz that hasnt announced layoffs or downsizing AND raised dev salaries across the board last year.

I know it's kind of an old meme but AAAs should really just make shorter and uglier games lmao. The indie situation it's really sad though I've been trying to buy more indies at full price but I know most of my friends would not pay more than $5 for an indie unless its something really particular.
