Its so funny to me that the media that really got reinvested in my art practice was a bunch of grown up crayons (wax pastels) LOL Big thanks to @vexnir.bsky.social for tipping me off to this medium 🙏

Also funny is that the internet consensus is “neocolors II are superior” and I guess if you use them in mixed media/are more of a watercolor artist that may be true But I really love the maligned neocolor I/neoarts 🤣 I just wanna smash wax together forever, man

They’re also fun to use in mixed media (over acrylics, for example) But I need to be more brave with it, because I’ve only used them as an accent on paintings so far

I also enjoy that the bluntness of the medium kinda forces me draw in a larger size. You can only sharpen crayons so much after all 🤡 I have a show in Germany from wed-sun this week but once I get back home I’m breaking out that A3 sketchbook again 😎

I actually use my neocolors II dry all the time! I’d prefer them to not be water soluble tbh but I went with IIs because of the larger color palette, I wish neo Is had more colors!
