The Trump administration wants you to believe ICE detention is about "public safety" but AP’s investigation found more than 300 documented cases of medical neglect in ICE detention facilities—and reporters say that's likely only a fraction of the real number.

At the same time, the number of people in ICE custody has nearly doubled, growing from roughly 40,000 to more than 75,000 in just one year. And as detention has expanded, so has the human cost. Here's the result: ICE detention is now deadlier than it has been in two decades.

Since the start of Trump's second term, 51 people have died in detention, with suicides reaching record levels. That’s on top of the more than 100,000 children ripped from their parents since last January - our taxpayer dollars are being weaponized to tear families apart.

Even when courts step in, people can still be denied care. A California judge ordered ICE to get a man showing signs of prostate cancer evaluated by a specialist. Records show it never happened.

These are just the inhuman conditions we know about - and the Trump regime is actively blocking basic oversight. DHS gutted and then shut down the Office of the Immigration Detention Ombudsman—the office that investigated complaints of neglect.

This is EXACTLY why I don’t get the least bit excited when someone claims a “great victory in court” against this regime. Court orders need to be enforced & this regime just ignores them since no one actually can enforce the orders

The history of concentration camps involves the disease &/or starvation deaths of millions of victims. And make no mistake, Trump’s privatized “detention centers” are nothing but concentration camps.
