Here’s a pro-tip. Ignore the three Hobbit movies and watch the 1977 cartoon The Hobbit. It’s better and will save you two hours or more.

Just watch in order skip the Hobbit unless you want some memes or to see some of the cast reprise their roles. Watch the old Rankin Bass animated Hobbit instead in most cases. I don't think LOTR needs a guide.
