Spoke with Surena, checked in, and I’m only going to say a few things. (Even if she did say I can let the chopper sing) The only reason I’m saying anything is because while everyone wants to step away “until they have all the facts”, that didn’t stop many people from spreading the lies via texts.

Thank you for the context. As a foreigner, I didn't really know what I'm looking at with the criminal case document that was thrown around, or how waterproof it is for any of this.

@eikka.bsky.social

Hopefully the person leaves Surena and Omar alone.

People that claim to want to "step away until they have all the facts" are the worst kind of fence-sitters.

@agrajaggi.bsky.social

As opposed to forming an opinion without all the facts???

i'm literally just a dumb teenager but i've taken some journalism classes and some of the "journalists" in the space are being very.... White about who they support with zero evidence

Holy shit, I just caught up on all of this. Looked at both sides of people and your post laid out the facts very plainly. People like to jump the gun when it comes to this shit.

What happened?

@tura23.bsky.social

Someone posted an unsubstantiated rumor, and the fandom seized on it and attacked the accused person.

The QUALITY of people stating their belief of Omar’s innocence has been the thing that really speaks volumes. B. Dave Walters has one of the first people to call out horseshit so he’s a strong influence on me

I have utterly no context to the situation other than I know your name and Saige’s name from Smosh… this has been a wild ride to learn about. Link to the case: media.lacourt.org/lascmediapro...

Firstly, the same reactionary desire to protect white feelings that got Jordon in the position he’s in now, is in a lot of folks. So many takes about how much people didn’t like him and calls to the CRIT Awards (???) while forgetting the main issue that’s happening. He earned his burns, but YIKES!

I think if you spread any of the lies about Omar, you should be doing your due diligence to let them know about Surena’s statement. Omar has been around since I’ve started doing shit on G&S back in 2014 and has been known as a great person. This isn’t a bulletproof metric, but should at least give..

…pause to some of the HEINOUS things he was accused off. Especially since the person doing it has had quite the opposite reputation. So, I immediately decided to support Surena when she told me this happened and she gave me the low down on the situation. I then consulted with a few people I know…

…in law about all the information I had. (They weren’t my lawyer, it wasn’t legal advice yada yada you know the spiel) They let me know all the ways in which the claims being made couldn’t be true and were able to confirm that there were no active charges against him. (This was pre 7/9/25).

Nailed it. Thank you for providing clarity in a space that refuses to even attempt to try.
