those The Avalanches did it this is their "toy box" album I think, not everything hit for me but none of it was from a lack of trying and it successfully kept me on my toes the whole hour, respect 💾

from the moment I heard a snippet of it in a teaser I knew Under Yr Power was gonna sweep me off my feet though, I am a stone cold sucker for J Dilla and that track is pure Dilla worship

Same with the title track I mentioned Games (Daniel Lopatin and Joel Ford) in a Discord server, and no one was familiar with the project! Check out "No Disguise" because the chopping is incredibly similar to what they were doing back in the day

basically how I felt about the majority of songs on the album, I get the briefness contributes to the larger themes of scattered memories but I do think there was room for this to be at least another 10 minutes longer and still kept that theme intact

Oh absolutely It's a fun listen overall, but there's so many fleeting moments that come and go just as soon as you're getting into it I wouldn't say it's meant for purists, but The Avalanches have always been about pushing the envelope since the SILY days
