It makes me sad the state of the tech industry right now. I remember being so happy and excited to work as a software engineer or systems administrator. AI has truly ruined every single facet of this industry and is still finding even the most niche areas to destroy. I’m doing trades now.

AI ruined the tech industry? I don't know when you started working as a tech, but it was ruined long before that. Blaming AI for the problems of corporate control of technology is not an intelligent thing to do.

“Corporate control existed before AI” and “AI has made working in tech dramatically worse” can both be true. Not everyone works in FAANG Roland. I’m talking about losing the joy, niche work and security that made this career worth pursuing ffs my guy…
