WIP, Blacksky/Eurosky/Northsky (featuring WAFRN from the Devil May Cry Series) are trying to make that more viable but due to Decisions™, making it (specifically Bluesky scale) scalable to People Who Don't Have Millions in VC Money is difficult Getting there though

"Might be a nazi bar later" is still better than "is definitely a nazi bar now I mean the owner literally did a sieg heil on TV and the entire planet saw it"

i still think its better here but its explicitly trading one bad corporate social media site for another bad corporate social media site that more closely resembles the kind of bad the first site was a decade ago

i kinda also think there's a big difference of, on twitter, you aren't actually likely to personally draw elon's ire unless you're big enough you can weather it anyways. he runs it like lowtax basically bsky staff is a lot more active of an eye of sauron to be under

so you want to be a center-right social media site at the cost of your marginalised audiences, do a little dogwhistling and reap all those monetary benefits? okay. okay. well then you cant be weepy about it on the forum. rule number one write that down

So much of modern conservatism and centrism is begging for the approval of the people you're shitting on and then getting resentful and vindictive when that approval isn't forthcoming it's really weird

like aside from the obvious absurdity of saying "please praise the fact that i'm fucking you over" to someone, why do they care? why do they need us to like them? i don't expect transphobes to like me! wouldn't want em to!

you want to be like youtube, monolithic and faceless that all your loaded ideological decisions are rendered invisible by bureaucracy. and yet your leads are arguing with the posters like lowtax. you are not gonna make it. you do not have the cholesterol to be out here

Arguably, going hitler mode and purging dissent with no elaboration would send a clearer signal, then people could abandon the website to try cohost again or something. Ultimately though, that would transform Bluesky into a sauceless circlejerk of scolding and they know this.

They are the Democrats and we are progressive voters. They want so badly to get rid of us for good, but at the same time they need us, no matter how often they pretend they don't. Bluesky does not have the juice, the transgender shitposters and furries have the juice, take them out and the site dies

Yeah, if they want their site to suck, they can't be outside self-snitching about how much they want their site to suck. Either they go full transparency, and every mod decision is public basically, allowing them to post, or they go faceless entity and never post on main again.
