ALBERT: maybe that's all bob is. the evil that men do DALE: we just did a straight up exorcism ritual dude. we had to do law and order shit on a ghost to get this guy

i think its interesting and heartwarming how twice lynch returns to this story to make the more subdued metaphorical exploration of evil that this line implies but in that original show that is definitely an episode about an Evil Ghost

it always seemed to me that cooper's willingness to attribute patriarchal violence to evil ghosts is exactly the kind of character flaw that makes it so easy for him to get possessed by an evil ghost

the beauty of twin peaks is that very duality. BOB is simultaneously a metaphor for the folly of man and is also a giant bowling bowl who gets defeated by a lightning-bolt gardening glove

it feels like Frost and Lynch both had different priorities, and sometimes they work together but other times it can be a little jarring lmao. What's funny is the magic glove was most likely Frost's idea.

Huh, I figured it was Frost since he wrote the Return outline and first drafts of every episode before handing everything to Lynch, iirc. I figured the long term plots that lasted multiple episodes were usually Frost ideas, like Freddie's subplot.
