its hard being a no gacha hardliner when all my oomfs are enjoying horsegirls and so on but there is one silver lining: i am a huge square enix fan, and as such i never have to worry about one of their gacha games succeeding and taking over the company

I can fully relate, I lost my wife to horsegirls (Actually that's entirely a joke; she's very reasonable in how much time she spends on it, and has plenty of other hobbies, and respects the one firm rule of "no horsegirls in bed" and I'm very proud of her gachaing responsibly)

you're not missing much with horse girls. it quickly loses its luster in 2-3 weeks when it becomes mashing through careers in skip mode to repeatedly roll the dice on hoping you get some good inheritance skills

its okay don't worry Yukes just released a cyborg schoolgirl roguelite that feels like a lost PS Vita title about destroying a tech corpo even now there is still hope left in mankind

All Square Enix's endless string of dying mobile garbage serves is to become a weird growing tumour on the end of Theatrhythm final fantasy of music for games you can no longer play and wouldn't want to.

only looking at their attempts to do gacha games from afar it seems to me that they cannot help but always sabotage them running them too greedily and operating them like rugpulls so they're just never attaining a place of honor within SE even as execs clearly love exploiting the business model

Square Enix have this strange method where their gacha games either go up in flames in no time or inexplicably cling to life for years despite being terrible even by gacha standards (FF Ever Crisis or KH Union x). There is no in-between.

square has wanted a big slice of that live service pie for so long but they are so, so awful at it and i hope they never improve

missing-link could have been the one. It could have been the breakout hit that took the world by storm. If only they could have figured out how to stop the game from melting people's phones. Now we will never know what's up with Brain.

even if you cut all the real money gacha out of it the horsegirls game is still basically just a slot machine you pull over and over until you get lucky enough to win. you're not missing much

I just be playing my silly little indie games. Gacha games are honestly just so boring after a few hours. I will never understand how anyone dumps hundreds of dollars into them.

Boy is there going to be egg on your face when Dissidia Duodellum releases the duo banner of Office Lady Lulu and Burnt Out Middle Manager Jecht and makes a bajillion dollars. Therefore becoming the first game to hit Square Enix’s projected sales numbers.
