Yes that’s exactly why I reached out!! We’re huge fans of PEmbroider and I am giddy at the thought of fully open hw/sw. Have you generally worked with the same machine(s)? We’ve also discussed the possibility of workshops - maybe some collabs there? Cheers

Our lab has a Viking Jade 35 that we did all our testing with. I'm interested to learn more about your open hardware, please send links when you have them! This reminds me that PEmbroider is overdue for a tuneup :)

@owentrueblood.com created a new, open, replacement motherboard which fully controls Brother PE-150 machines (which are $100 on ebay in great shape) it's a retrofit (you swap the motherboard). best of all worlds - great machine, full control. excited re: PEmbroider updates and hope to contribute!
