I'm a carer in a residential home. It has been shocking over the last few days to see so many normally fine people nearly falling over from dehydration We obviously do what we can to make sure people have drinks etc but there are limits to what we can do Depressing to think this will get worse

Its not just in equality, simply most european infrastructure wasnt built to handle this heat.. and while big oil plays a large role, tech is rapidly coming up... like france is a fecking idiot wanting europes largest data center..as it its not hot enough www.politico.eu/article/euro...

politico.euEurope must choose between AI and climate goals, data center lobby saysTech sector says only carbon-emitting gas plants are reliable enough today to power the EU’s AI goals.

Call me cynical, or a conspiracy theorist, but I think many deaths resulting from this are intended. Governments and other organizations know there is an over-population problem and finite resources to go around. So they want to cull the weakest and most vulnerable from society, which... 1/2

...generally encompasses the older population, people with chronic illnesses, the disabled, etc., whom they view as a burden on society and a drain on finances and resources. If you don't think they're that evil, just look back over the past century at all of the preventable tragedies. 2/2

Would love to see the actual excess mortality rate statistics to back this up. Not that it isn’t possible, it’s just not visible in the stats I’m aware of.

I’m not saying excess deaths won’t happen. I’m just saying that as of now, no region or country is reporting excess deaths- which is actually a little surprising. I find dooming via predictions unhelpful. I hope it’s because we’ve adapted & prepared. Let the stats tell the story

Because there is 40°C in Leipzig, our roads are melting. The Tram (trains on the streets) are stopped atm. I was outside and took fotos. Our infrastructure isn't made for 40°C. It's made for Norddeutsches Grillwetter (means rain, fog and snowyrain). This isn't normal here.

And will continue to do so unless we change the system; New Party BY THE PEOPLE offering government by Citizens Assemblies selected by sortition and UBI, nothing else. Using the weakness of the system to overcome it; voting. We can't wait for "good" leaders. We have to be those leaders.
