i think one of the biggest underlinings in just how bad the western industry has been about its own legacy is like. myst isnt just an old game. it was final fantasy vii before final fantasy vii. it was that fucking huge.

As far as I remember no one cared about Myst back then. People were playing SNES and Sega Mega Drive, next to no one had a Mac.

if you were white and in the suburbs yes but there is an entire world out there who doesn't know what zelda is but know myst is that game that was on everyones family computer but its ok. i can lie and tell you the nintendo 64 was culturally relevant if it helps you process this better.
