oh well. I guess I am waiting for sveltekit 4 if I want this feature? not being able to use remote queries as public API has been one of my pain points when deploying to anything that isn't a browser. Think of it like opencode, by default it runs local, but on desktop it can connect to any server.

if this were possible today, you would be able to deploy the exact same bundle as web and desktop (electron, tauri etc) and just change a target URL to an external kit server to work remotely. Instead, you have to wrap your kit API into type unsafe API endpoints or run a sidecar API wrapper.

I’m pretty sure we’ll add something that will enable this somehow — just not in this PR. I think the concern is more about whether trustedOrigins is the right tool for the job.
