I can't believe we turned "Laptop Worker" into a term of derision. We now have the tech and business models to allow millions of people to make a living in ways unthered to a farm plot, assembly line,, or cubicle. That's very cool! Do not project your weird yearning for the mines on to me.

I guess the point here is that making technology bulkier doesn't really seem to solve whatever you think society's problems are. It doesn't really seem to serve any purpose at all. Except making shipping more expensive.

Yes I'm aware. Your joke highlights the stupidity of the derision and I was running with that. Like when people criticise the poor for having "flat screen TVs".
