100%. And migrating from one to another is a lesson that every OS developer can learn. Run a USB-C cable between your old one and new one, press a few buttons on the old one, then go have a coffee. Hey presto! The new one is a complete mirror of the old one, but with shiny new hardware.

1000%. I have CLI apps and tools on my Mac Pro that I have no idea how I installed them, becuase I installed them years ago on my Air. But they work and they migrated over from my Air with absolutely no effort from me.
