Damnit Phil, I thought I'd escaped the Pimoroni sale with only a small purchase... How challenging would it be to build a custom page, e.g. to use it for smart home data?
Smart home data is something I wanted to give real thought to, possibly building a separate app for it. What's your data source?
Originally I wanted to run the server *on* Home Assistant (optionally) but it's much easier just to integrate existing APIs.
I didn't get on well with HA, so my data source would be "however I can squeeze stuff out of zigbee2mqtt". If a Tufty could talk to the MQTT server that'd be super, but it wouldn't be hard to kludge it with a web page of data to scrape. My main concern was creating the graphics.
The whole system is based around a server that runs on your PC (or Pi) which gathers data and sends it to Tufty. Includes a full config UI too.
So yes MQTT is entirely feasible... I wonder if a generic MQTT source would be a good addition, with no specific front-end.
