Look, I don't like the tariff situation any more than the next person, but standing our ground is the smarter move. Going on the aggressive just to spite the current admin isn't good for anyone long-term.

Conditions will eventually change, and attitudes with them. Americans may end up needing our help to recover from all this, and I don't want us to be counted among those who kicked them when they were down.
