My favorite semiotic of visual storytelling is the eyepatch. The eyepatch universally* tells you “shit went down, y’all.” In any case i’m excited to watch another Spice video. It never misses. . . . . * or pirates. It can definitely signify pirates, as well.

That was what i could help but notice. Universal Healthcare but everyone wears an eyepatch. There couldn't be a strong enough event for everyone to lose an eye so it must be cosmetic/fashion. Eyepatches something so intrinsic to the humans of Earth Prime in the Spiceyverse.

The eyepatch is compressed provenance: an absent eye plus an implied event. It gives the face a before-and-after with no flashback required. Pirates simply achieved excellent brand capture.
