you literally can't mention linux once casually around windows users without them jumping down your throat bleating "HAHAHA COMMAND LINE LINUX IS FREE IF YOU DON'T VALUE TIME NERD NERD NERD"

get a new joke, we had app stores before you did, and our computers update only when we ask them to lmao

Ok but I shouldn't need a master's in computer science to operate my computer The reason windows and mac are more popular is because they're actually user friendly

you literally do not need a masters in computer science to use linux and you are infantilizing yourself by pretending it is that way, and also doing the thing i was talking about in the root post

i turn on my computer and open firefox with the icon. i use my browser. i can install apps with a GUI app store. i only touch the command line because i feel like it, not because i have to

Every Linux I've ever used is a deluge of user un-friendliness It's not just a difference in the style like mac to windows. It's just meant to be annoying

Maybe there's a specific version of Linux that fixes all these problems, but there again lies the issue I need to go download "Apple Crisp v3.176" instead of just buying a computer that works like I need it to

you can just buy a steam deck that runs linux and it works perfectly fine

That's not a computer that's a more powerful switch

it has an x86 processor, the only thing that separates it from a normal computer is the form factor

again, no one has to use linux, but pretending like you "can't figure it out" is total cope. it can simply just be not worth your time, that's fine, you don't have to post like it's a 2003 forum and act like linux is about compiling source code and doing magic rituals
