Pretty funny that we have a mixup of Clayfaces in modern media largely because somebody at BTAS thought "Basil Karlo" was too stupid a name, even for comics.

Basil had a whole heroic redemption arc in Detective some years back! He was a sad guy who just wanted his acting life back.

Eventually comics Basil became a big monster guy as well, but everybody fondly remembers combined version BTAS Matt so here we are. (Even after Harley Quinn show Clayface was Basil.) Of course they have like five other Clayfaces so whatever really.
