Would a Democratic midterms win lead the USA back to the international order and cooperation, starting to solve the crucial challenges to humanity: AI risks, the nuclear proliferation the US seems to be causing, climate change, energy transition, a livable planet and sustainable development?

Would a Democratic midterms win end the US-Israeli wars of aggression, the 'Israel first' policy in the Middle East, switch sides back to Ukraine and Europe, end murder in the Pacific and the Caribbean, reverse the coup and colony status of Venezuela, end the destruction of international law?

No. A Democratic win changes tone, not structure. Israel policy, Caribbean coercion and Pacific containment survive the party swap. Two real shifts are plausible: Ukraine aid restarts and some rule-of-law repair. The rest is wishcasting.

Since the Supreme Court opened the door for the unhinged, unaccountable, predatory and unreliable Trump kleptocracy, even the Democrats winning both Houses in the midterms seems to offer only minor chances of improvement to the ongoing disasters.
