I was the male single Parent of an Autistic child after his mother abandon him... of course my ancestors on my mothers side were Native to these lands and Men were a big part of raising children... the Eurocentric culture that landed here has corrupted the world..

I have no idea where the women's movement moved to but it needs a comeback. The misogyny by women today is the worst I have seen in fifty years. The tech bros and republicans have made this country unlivable.

Most of the time the mother gets primary custody after a divorce because she was the one doing most of the parenting before the divorce. (Individual mileage may vary yada yada).

Another thing, when I was a kid you almost never saw women mowing the lawn. That was 'a mans job'. Now women not only mow lawns they run landscaping businesses.

The problem I see with our generation is that women learned to do literally everything. Mowing the lawn, doing all the administrative stuff, sell the car etc. But men take over womens duties only when they are fun and valorized.

When I was a kid you rarely saw a dad out walking the baby in a stroller. If you did he had a shameful look on his face & ppl laughed. Now you see dads walking babies, carrying them, changing diapers, etc etc. And it's accepted. HUGE change in attitude and very welcome.

Sungapore is proposing such a concept in their new laws being developed to encourage more Singaporeans having kids. Fathers getting more time to parent. The USD$55k per child payment is probably the better encouragement, but dad's parenting is a good step forward.

I didn’t want my husband around more than he was. I wanted to be with those babies bonding with them without his interference, without him under foot, and without his suggestions. In a fantasy world none of those would be an issues, but let’s be real here!

Couples typically don’t take leave at the same time so this wouldn’t be a thing…dads also break it up a few weeks after birth and then when mom is due to return to work to ease transition - it usually good for any time in the first year and really helps keep women working and dads be involved

Millennial and Gen-Z dads are much more involved than past generations and it makes stronger relationships with less resentments My my boomer dad was completely useless w/ kids so I could see wanting to kick that generation of dads out back on the golf course lol

On top of the equality of it- Dad's have so much to give their kids and family and they shouldn't be shoved into a certain type of role, either. The patriarchy crushes us all and ruins families/lives 😡😭

That would mean a lot more men not becoming fathers, which is fine because most do not have the fucking temperament or patience or we end up with a lot of shitty kids imo. I was very very fortunate that my kids mother is fucking awesome and taught me patience and temperament.

As a father, I can only applaud that. But to be able to do that, a couple should be able to make a proper living on one wage only. To avoid confusion: this goes for ANY couple (man/women, man/man, women/women) and how they divide it is completely up to them.

It also raises children with a central father figure, shows relationships as more stable, presents a more positive male identity, and is less likely to cause resentments and insecurities resulting from the “Goddess vs. Cave-Dolt” depiction of males and females in pop-culture, during formative years.

Too bad today's feminists don't agree. In the last decade I have gone from a staunch supporter of women's rights to apathetic. Every single health marker for men is in the red. I have come to believe Irina Dunn's perspective, from my point of view... "Men need women like a fish needs a bicycle."

I spent a lot of time raising my kids as a father. It was so much fun & rewarding, yes difficult on sleepless days, but so very worth it. I had a busy growing career at the same time. (It helped to be younger & healthy.) My three kids are now 20 somethings & doing well. It’s real teamwork.

Yes! To all the dads working to make this happen thank you! I was lucky to have such a dad and it really makes a difference for both the children and the mom. When all responsibilities fall to one parent resentment builds and impacts the whole family. True partnership takes the load off everyone.

Men should be involved in raising children. Maybe they wouldn't be in such a hurry to send them off to war. Male 6th grade teacher had us set up dummy stock portfolios (I didn't do well) took us to his 2 acre farm/ranch to do chores. Male scout leader fed us rattlesnake, found along hiking trail.
