Once again, thanks for your patience! The current outage is being worked on. When things are available again, I'm hoping that a lot of the backend performance issues that made the app nearly unusable with the current load are solved. I'll also be working towards a more highly available setup.

I'll send an update when everything's back online again. I did not anticipate these many users so quickly, so thanks for your understanding <3

Things are technically alive again, and many of my fixes did stabilise the infrastructure, but a few more problem areas remain, with some temporary workarounds put in place. Fluxer HQ is open, but it's also a bit slower than most other communities for now, so have a look around in the Fluxerverse!

I'll be working to process the backlog of thousands of users who signed up when manual verification was required. Sorry about that, and thanks for your patience!

(1/2) I've also noticed that when this restriction is put in place, you also get an email asking you to verify your email. This has been pretty confusing, and I'll fix this behaviour (should only send when your registration attempt is approved).

(2/2) You don't lose access to your account if the email verification link expires, you can always sign in when approved and request a verification email from there!

I couldn't have expected Fluxer to get this far, and I've received an enormous amount of funding through Visionary (and there are still many slots available!) to keep this project alive, scale its infrastructure, and quite possibly also extend the core team beyond myself. Huzzah!

If d*scord ever gets on yalls ass for the blue/purple you’re using, change your theme color to orange. It’s the complimentary of blue which is funny

Once more people get in I think you'll better funding. Very low priority but $100 supporter badge for self-host would generate revenue as well from people who don't need the support package. I know there is a donation link but people like to get something for it, badges usually work.

(also uhhhhhhh I’m trying to verify my email but no emails are being sent and I’ve already checked my different inboxes and spam all over and nothing)

Is the HQ invite supposed to be invalid? It says that it either doesn't exist or had been expired. I'd love to join the main community to get some live updates if possible!

Outside of the stability issues from mass user influx (which literally no one could have seen coming) I've had a mostly good time on it! I'm happy to even pay for Plutonium if it means helping grow the platform into a sustainable and scalable system

Looks like Visionary is already sold out =/ will there ever be additional slots given the massive influx I'm sure you're still accruing? I'd love to support this (but PLEASE allow audio sharing with screensharing on Linux, we're the ones that value privacy most after all!)

bsky.app/profile/seaw... I went into it a bit in these two replies

I’d suggest reading the article Basic summary: LLM is used as a polishing tool to ensure there’s less errors. He does not use nor accept generated coding + wants developers to understand what they’re doing. In the future, he hopes to turn away from LLMS

I also want to note that the developer claims to only use AI for speeding up mechanical implementation where it can easily be reviewed, not architecture and design. In my opinion, as an anti-vibe-coding developer who *does* use LLMs like this occasionally, that trade-off for time is defendable.

The whole thing feels like a scam at this point. Donate here, subscribe there, the update that will fix everything is coming tomorrow (again) and the source code that is available is pretty old so nobody could even contribute to fix this mess.

I didn't get that impression. The existing app feels too polished and complete to be a throwaway vice coded mess. The blog post also made him seem competent to a fellow developer like me. The timing of discords age verification fiasco seems pretty unfortunate given he wasn't expecting such traffic.

So he uses the glorified spell check as... A programmer spell check, essentially Huh It's weird to see a company head actually use LLMs the way they are supposed to be used

The last part is my biggest worry. I have 2k member community and I am investigating where to move. But I am weary of putting my eggs in a basket maintained by one person. I love what you have accomplished so far and want to support federation too, but I need a stable place too.

To be fair, it isn't maintained entirely by one person, I've seen other people around in the main community with roles indicating they're part of the team they are, however, the majority contributor at the moment

Hello, is there a way to bind toggle mute on mouse 5 button? Also is there going to be an X account for the project? I don't really use Bluesky and this project seems really great. Thank you
