I just had a mini boss fight where I was trying to use it to be strategic and dodge and it was just not working out. Tried again and just stood there and hit the boss in the face while tanking damage and healing and it was no problem.

This made me consider that I might be overthinking it or something

You’ll find trinkets that will favor each approach, so don’t feel obligated to play a certain way. I had a tough time with burrowing until I found some trinkets gave me more defensive options.
