On this day in 2022, a fat faced tabby was caught in a trap. Scared, hungry, and sick with pneumonia, he spent some time in the ICU. The rest is history, but I like to consider today, his shelter intake date, Fishtopher's "birthday."

I always remember the photo of him flat on the floor, his ears down, and his face so sad before you got him. It looked like he was close to giving up. And now his happy face brings so much pleasure

At this same time in 2022, it had been less than 3 weeks since I had escaped my deadly DV situation. I was spiraling and desperately searching for any scrap of goodness I could find in the world. Watching Fishtopher’s rescue and rehab into his wonderful happy, loved self was such a balm 🙏🏼❤️

It took awhile, but the babies got out and with me to safety too 🥰 @crits4cats.org (and others on the Old Site) were incredibly helpful. Thankful for all of us to be in a better, safer, happier place now!!
