Neither is Jesus. The Constitution says Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. "Separation of church and state" is the shorthand for that principle, one the Supreme Court has recognized for decades.

Dan Patrick: "Separation of Church and state is not in the Constitution"

Dan Patrick is a weirdo control freak who wouldn’t know Jesus if he got slapped in the face by him. He uses religion to control people. Unfortunately Texans are easily duped when someone says they are Christian.

“In the ordinary moral universe, the good will do the best they can, the worst will do the worst they can, but if you want to make good people do wicked things, you’ll need religion.“—Christopher Hitchens. On cue, Dan Patrick starts peddling his dangerous theocratic BS.

the version in their heads does. Plus they have been caught distributing versions of the constitution that have added passages and removed other passages in school systems lately. I imagine texas students have a copy that says this. Reality is being rewritten.

Trump just recently was told the word dumb has the letter “b”at the end!The fact they are in power though shows how dumb many in this Country are. These people love money and power. Using the US to enrich themselves! Just look at the richest idiot in the world! Thanks to taxpayers $$$!

Do you know who came up with the idea of separation of Church and State? Jesus. "Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and unto God what is God's."

You've absolutely no idea what the character depicted in the Bible as Jesus said or did. 12 idiots followed him around believing him to be, if not divine, the most enlightened mind to walk the Earth. Yet not one thought it prudent to record anything. Nothing. Nada. Not a fucking Scooby Hilarious

Oh my, it seems my tether is being frayed by official lies. It's time the people recognize the plan. Alot of veterans are unstable and are no longer able to swallow lies. The problem is that our training has enabled our animals. Just seeing the aftermath of white phosphorus tank rounds.*twitch****

Neither are the words God or Creator, though they are used in the Declaration of Independence, which is not our governing document. Also important that Thomas Jefferson, one of the primary authors of the Declaration, didn't think Jesus was divine, just a man with some good teachings.

He created his own version of the New Testament with all supernatural events removed, as well. He was a deist who revered Jesus' teachings but didn't worship him.

They are such con artists . . . They are not, they cannot, fool rational educated people. They needn't bother . . . They only need to rile the least educated whom would not understand, or would be so self-righteous that they would not care that they were wrong. Christian Nationalism must be stopped

Jesus generally argued in favor of a seperation of church and state and the idea that genuine faithfulness must come from the heart, not from polt or social pressure

God wants humans free to choose Him by our own choice, by our own consent. There is no true love without freedom. Jesus repeatedly chastises those that imitate faithfulness for social or polt gain. He repeatedly says his kingdom is not of this world, we anticipate the kingdom through love & charity

God gave humans free will. There are only a few passages with ambiguous translations where Pharaoh's heart hardens toward God when Pharaoh refuses to free the slaves. In the Bible, God can refer to our moral God the Father that created the cosmos, but it can also refer to acts of nature in general

Historically state control corrupts the church and imposes requirements that have historically often seen the faith corrupted so that it supports war, torture, slavery, and cruelty. The church must be free from the state so individuals can choose God free from state pressure and critique the world

The Roman Catholic Church became most Christ like when it has lost all of its hard power since the loss of the papal states after 1870. After the Church lost the papal states and its influence through the fall of feudal monarchs, did it come to symbolize universal love, unity, mercy, & charity
