The deal apparently includes 13,000 tonnes in tariff free beef access to the US for UK farmers, and 13,000 tonnes in tariff free beef access to the UK for US farmers. No one's standards change. By way of context the tariff free quota Australian beef gets into the US is 448,214 tonnes per annum.

Why the actual fuck would we want to export the same amount of Beef to the US as what we're importing from them? Oh hang on a minute, we're going to be sending them the high quality stuff for their rich people to enjoy and they're going to be sending us their rank stuff to go into ready meals

They should have given the figure in Trumps, not tonnes Given that Trump, at his last medical, was measured (!) at 224lb, that’s 127,946.8 Trumps we can export tariff-free, more if his doctor was fibbing (who’d want to be a weights and measures inspector having to verify the standard though?)

The beef we receive wouldn’t be hormone loaded - it would have to meet our safety standards, which wouldn’t change 😊 the exchange just allows greater choice for the consumers who would want that, I suppose!

Exactly this, it's a great opportunity for niche/specialist production rather than for the the mass produced. I'm sure there must be a lot Texan beef connoisseurs who would be willing to pay a premium for rare UK bred beef. Don't sell them what they have already got.
