UnitedHealth CEO Andrew Witty just sent a memo to staff (leaked to me) hailing late CEO as “one of the good guys” who had “a profoundly positive impact on the lives of so many people.” Witty adds: “He was certainly one of the smartest guys. I think he was one of the best guys.”

I would have a lot more respect for these guys if they were mustache twirling villains who just admitted they are parasitic merchants of death, rather than pretending that siphoning away billions of dollars somehow helps people get healthy.
