Got a job interview at McDonald's tomorrow. Never worked fast food in my life. From $40/hr to $13. Demoralizing. Getting a job in America is a humiliation ritual. If you get laid off, chances are, you won't find another job anytime soon. Meanwhile, the "President" is doing shit that don't matter

Yea. I was just talking to my friend who's a programmer. Says he's given up and went into being a truck mechanic. My other friend also gave up, says he's never going back into tech. Shit's crucial out here. I don't know anything else to replace the income I had

Yeah, I may or may not have mentioned this before, but I have two comp sci majors working for me, starting @ $16.50/hr. One just speed-ran her pharm tech license classes in about 5 months when it takes most ppl a year. $2 raise for her, which still isn't enough IMO.

My lil bro bought a bunch of Nvidia stock YEARS ago and quit to write a book while living off selling those stocks. He's thinking about getting back into software engineering now that he has finished the book. I used to joke that he'd never be out of work. Welp, you know what AI has done....
