People have noted I’m writing more articles about anti trans dems now than I used to. I swear it isn’t because I hate dems or want them to lose. I’ve ALWAYS written articles about anti trans dems. It’s just that now there are so many more to write about.

You've had enough of... ...What? The other guy *is* worse. Telling me you won't lift a finger to prevent fascism is telling me you have a privilege I do not. Calling any dems 'literal nazis', tells me you have a privilege to endure the nazis we do not. I ain't that rich.

Your point is invalid until the election. I'm super-glad we've gotten alot more progressive, dem socialist candidates in our primaries, I'm also glad many of them won their primaries! In the General, it's all about blocking every single Republican.

One thing you might want to look at. In states that are red, if a democrat is going to win, they may have to forgo stating they are for trans rights. They can not pull the votes from the GOP to win otherwise. How many state one thing and will do another remains to be seen. They will also vote with

the party 99.9% of the time where the GOP will NEVER stand for anyone's rights unless you are making millions. It's not a culture war, it's a class war and that is what no one sees. The GOP is very good at using anything a dem says against them to win, remember that. Dems in red states walk a thin

line between winning a seat for us and failure. They can not afford to give the GOP ammunition to use against them and we can not afford for them to lose. Again, one issue voters kill our party. Don't be a one issue voter. Women have been fighting for our rights since 1920. We lost some to the GOP.

Define "anti-trans." Is it openly exhorting hatred and violence against trans people, marginalizing them via legislation? Or is it not putting them before all else? The latter would seem a prioritizing more than marginalizing.

I'm a "Blue no Matter Who" at this point. It's fine to identify the ones we need to work on. No one said the path would be easy. We can't shy away from the hard work it will take. But the Dems with issues have far fewer issues than Republicans. They're a lot closer to ideal.

Ok so why are you even commenting then? Erin is doing the work that you want to happen. What are you doing besides "voting blue no matter who" which is what helped get us in this position to begin with? How can we move Dems if we're not even willing to put a foot down as say, "you come to me"?

No, "blue no matter who" is HOW you get these awful Dems. When a Dem says the same transphobic shit the GOP says, that Dem should not get to count on trans people's votes. Notice how "Blue No Matter Who" suddenly disappears from centrist mouths as soon as a DSA-backed candidate wins the nomination.

Depends who you are. If you're not personally in the crosshairs of one, sure, it's temporarily better for YOU, but not for their targets. In the medium term, electing an awful Dem is providing Trump an ally (or at least a stooge) in the Dem party. A Fetterman can do more harm than a Hawley or a Mace

Fascinating sentiment. It sounds familiar…oh yes! That’s right! That’s been the message from EVERY election! And the result? The centrists don’t do anything to help, and then the GOP comes back in, rinse and repeat!

People are doing that. But when they do, the transphobic Dems freeze trans people out of that process. Take the debacle with Amy Acton after her transphobic statements. She set a meeting with LGBT groups, didn't show up, then her staff kicked the trans members of those groups out of the meeting.

As someone who has done that on multiple occasions, they don’t listen, they hide in their offices and send some uninterested stand in to smile and nod. Only ONCE have I ever actually seen a legislator do a face-to-face, for a cause she already HEAVILY supported. Wasn’t even in my borough!

Everyone is free to be as ugly as they want if they don’t ask me to pay for it. Socialize emergency healthcare; free the drug market. Free insulin for diabetics; let trans people buy their own hormones.

Here in Norway, I have three staunchly trans supportive political parties that won't go down with a fight for my rights (even as a resident who isn't a citizen yet), even the Høyre ("Right" conservative) party doesn't go throwing trans people under the bus. Democrats are in sad shape...

I’m quite sure there are enough anti trans Republicans to fill your days between now and Election Day writing about, and, if elected, they will do measurably more harm then anti trans Dems. Just sayin’ the obvious. Learn from history or be doomed to repeat it

When they're up against an R and not other Ds, they should. There's a time to lean on them and a time not - the General election, just the few weeks, is that one time 'not'. Because one is not just trying to make us uncomfortable, they're making everything worse. I don't have that much privilege

How dare you…cover the news. The hell Erin. …please note that I’m kidding; people should know what candidates are saying even if it throws their “vote blue no matter who” plans into array

Maybe the reason the right have stuck onto trans issues is because it's likely to cause voters to abstain because anti trans sentiment is growing among Democrats like these. Last election iirc the issue of Palestine was also echoed and may have had voters abstain so the right stays in power. Imo

I think it's ok to hate dems and what them to lose at this point. This party will never stand up for us or anyone else for that matter. It needs to suffer the same death the labour party in the UK suffered, hopefully we end up with something better

Nah, we are gonna steal the Democratic Party, just like the Tea Party and later MAGA stole the GOP. Then we are going to use it to end the two-party system.

Any individualism will scare the xenophobes, they are herd animals and we must husband them gently... don't stampede the herd like politicians...?

So if these states are past the primaries and the candidates have been selected... people should do what? This would have been great information prior to candidates being selected. Looks like fishing for rage clicks/followers at its best or a hit job at it's worst. Sitting it out isn't an option...

I am old enough to remember Obama was against marriage equality, so were the Clinton's. The perfect candidates don't exist. But minds can be changed. My husband and I spent 5 years lobbying for Marriage equality in Maryland. I was thrilled when it was put to the Citizens and passed into law.

Those were very rare cases. Meanwhile we have Dems like Acton who has been spreading lots of anti-trans propaganda and silenced the Ohio LGBTQ Caucus when they tried calling her out on it. People like her don’t even pretend to care, and even that didn’t prevent her from being attacked by Reps.

Hate is rising very very quickly. What you're doing is extremely important. You do so much great work. I know we're all tired but even that one time someone was brave enough to say something is very helpful.

The problem is t you writing about anti-trans dems, the problem is with anti-trans dems doing anti-trans things that deserve writing about.

i've seen publications that take trump's words out of context to make it seem like we're all getting thrown in camps literally tomorrow get called fearmongering less than you do for accurately reporting democrats' transphobia and holding what allies we do have accountable, it's super annoying 😞

Dems will always abandon people in order to chase the center right vote. They're a right wing party that's pissed they have a left wing base. That's way they will always attack their base and left wing before attacking Republicans.
