holy shit. Trump's "Executive Board of Peace" is being set up to replace/undermine the United Nations. It's not just about imposing the "20-point" plan on Gaza. It'll be to legitimize things like invading Venezuela and kidnapping Maduro - because obviously if they're making the rules, it's okay.

So when Carney accepts the invitation to be on the board, he - and probably a lot of the others accepting the invite - are looking to be part of this New World Order. Whatever qualms they say about Trump/fascism are of a lesser priority than ensuring they are part of the in-group, and not left out.

3/ Now they're reporting it will cost $1B for Carney to join Trump's New World Order executive board. Carney's reason for joining, of course, is "because it is important to have a seat at the table to shape this process from within." It's IMPORTANT to be a part of undermining the rules-based order

Canada must not do this. It is a mockery of international political governance, legitimizing the idea that Trump can simply push aside other countries' sovereignty. www.politico.com/news/2026/01...

4/ Here's Canada's PM Mark Carney on the hot seat about signing up to be one of the founding executives of Trump's New World Order. Will he pony up the $1 billion? He's unclear. Earlier article: "A Canadian government official clarified to POLITICO that Canada will not pay for a seat on the board"

5/ Mark Carney is trending #1 on Bsky right now. Because... he's saying the stuff out loud, that the much vaunted (while hypocritical) "rules-based international order" is over and isn't coming back. He is justifying his buy-in of Trump's New World Order exec board, to "change it from the inside".

7/ Dude just announced a day ago he's agreed in principle to be part of the executive board for Trump's New World Order, and (again see #4 ⬆️) isn't disputing the $1-billion sign up cost, but sure it is a breakup (?!). I think the nondescript word people use for this is "pragmatist" or something...
