So glad I found this! Just read the recent one on gesture controls - and I recently had to do some work around a map and zoom controls actually. The zoom controls were off by default (curious to hear your thoughts on that) but could be turned on via a11y settings.

It was kind of funny because one person said "we don't have zoom controls on native" and I believed them until I was flipping through the code one day and saw the conditional there. It was a great reflection in 1) not realizing a "missing" feature and 2) how many helpful things are off by default.

This is precisely why I recommend having zoom etc. on by default. Especially with accessibility, many people with disabilities know to check what accessibility settings have, but not all. Then there's the group of people who don't think they need accessibility, so they never look into the settings.
