This earthquake occurred at a subduction zone boundary where the Pacific plate dives beneath the North American plate. But this was a strike-slip earthquake inside one of the two plates, meaning the two sides of a fault slid laterally past each other rather than one going under the other.

Thank you. Wonderful to see that detail. Are there really only a handful of seismic stations in Canada? Or do you not have access to the wider Canadian data?
