I would also add that it is the responsibility of citizens to hold the elected officials accountable for their actions. The legitimacy of those in power rests on the consent of the citizenry and without that consent then government is no longer legitimate but is instead a fascist entity.

Tim Russert was correct. I would like to add to that. It is not the job of the press to report every opinion on any given matter. It is the job of the press to discover the facts and report them to the public.
