The train scene in Spirited Away is one of my favorite moments in any film, but I gotta go with Howl's Moving Castle. It does things to my heart, and it's easily the one I've watched the most.

Definitely worth checking out! Diana Wynne Jones is one of those authors I have a lot of fond memories of reading when I was younger. Book Sophie is a lot of fun and differs a fair bit from movie Sophie and Howl is even more of a disaster (affectionate)

a lot of her work also, even when it wasn't perfect, had a core of kindness to it that I recall. One of her series I liked and should reread was the Dark Lord of Derkholm about a wizard and his family getting strongarmed by a tourism agency into acting as a Sauron figure to wow tourists

I think there is something truly special in the fact that both Howl and Sophie don't outright lift their curses, their curses become something more bearable and elements of them are eventually integrated into their character designs.

Absolutely. I've often wondered if that influenced certain things in Dungeon Meshi, which has a similar approach
