What's the worst a speaker has put you through? I'm doing a presentation on public speaking and I'd like some example of what not to do. What do you think should be banned from public speaking or presentations?

I totally agree with you, but some speakers, especially those from the USA, won't change even when you explain to them the difference between the words. They probabaly also insist on sayng "expressso" and "I could have cared less" 😄

Constantly saying how fantastic you are and how much money you saved prior clients. I can clearly remember three people who do this, and at least two I also know for sure are liars. Your content says how good you are.

Fully agree. However, some people argue that it brings validity to what you present (if you're unknown to the audience). But I agree that you should let the content decide how good you are.

I'll start. Very lengthy introduction of the speaker themselves and the company that they work for. If it lasts several minutes, there's big chance you lost me already.

Reading off of slides, talking to the wall/projected slide deck in stead of the audience, more "err" "hummm" "errr" than content, stretched 2min google search and 5min doc reading to a full talk, clearly had never DONE a single of the things which were presented
