I cannot for the life of me understand the arguments of the people saying vote yes on I645 in WA. The hypotheticals about some future where the deduction is lowered. If that happens and the level is deemed too low, vote it down then? Add a ballot measure to make it replace sales tax?

Truly so many options that don’t result in giving literal billionaires a tax cut because they’ve spooked you into thinking “it’s just a matter of time before the man comes for your money next”. And frankly, the deduction could be lowered. We’re talking households that earn more than 1M a year.

We can’t be this brainwashed. WA has one of the most regressive tax structures in the entire country, and this current tax doesn’t do nearly enough to remedy that, but it is a step in the right direction.
