Recycling creatively. A thread of some tools and skills to learn if you want to be creative with recycling things at home and maybe even make money from the process. (Just adding that a 3D printer can be a lifesaver) All these things I learned the core skills from YouTube videos.

1. Electronics recycling: Learn circuits and soldering. You can re-use parts from old electronics to create new ones or re-work them into something new entirely. The salt lamp inner light above was the result of reusing an old broken USB cable and connecting it to an LED to make it usb powered.

3: Metals: Now this one I haven't tried since I don't have a garden, but you can melt your scrap metal and pour it into molds with a metal foundry. There are tons of ways to make custom ones and once I can, I'm making one. (Too many Allen keys) You can buy graphite molds online for the metal.

5. Wood: Rarer but I like to get creative and create new furniture or repair/improve thing. (I'll share some general tips for creativity at the end.) There are also things like drawer separators. Combining them with other things you make as bases, frames, filler or propping things up.

My last bit of advise before I go back to sleep is: Get creative. Become a tinkerer and combine all the above methods. Get a 3D printer and all the ideas expand 100x in options. The more you learn and Google, the more your options will expand. But always do it safely, and do your research.

Most importantly! Avoid waste in the first place. Buy unpackaged goods as much as possible. Buy second hand too. Fix things up rather than swapping them out. Im a hypocritical consumer more than I wish to be, but the more I do these and learn, the less wasteful I become. 6AM brain rant over. GN!
