How is the interface between Nix and Wasm defined? How are Strings, arrays, etc passed?

You say that WASI is only for toolchains that can't avoid it, but WIT lets hosts and guest components define their interfaces and how data is lowered between them. Making extensions be WASI components would make a lot of things easy and clear.
