BREAKING: The DOJ sued to effectively force Alaska to set aside the results of the 2026 Senate race if anyone other than Republican incumbent Sen. Dan Sullivan wins. The lawsuit comes after the DOJ also sued California preemptively challenging the vote there.

"If we don't get our way and you elect a democrat, then we will try to take away your free elections! Because...we think that we are entitled to control everybody else...yeah. We've had our way so long, we can't let go of power and give someone else a turn". Fekking spoiled brat loser cheaters.

Peltola should claim the same thing, she can say many who voted for the Senator intended to vote for the other one and it should be set aside if the Senator wins. there is RANKED CHOICE voting. if anyone is confused they can put Senator Sullivan first, other Sullvan second and not rank Peltola.

The suit rests on a "purposes" clause in a voter-registration statute that imposes no duty on anyone, seeks to block a certification federal law requires, depends on an election outcome that may never happen, and asks a federal court to second-guess a ballot-access ruling by Alaska's highest court.

There is a lot of bullshit coming from this DOJ! Don’t be intimidated. That is the intention!

If Mobsters Todd Blanche & FELON/Adjudicated RAPIST Donald J. "Bone Spurs" Trump want to ensure #Alaska's Independent voters overwhelmingly vote for @marypeltola.com, THIS was the move to make. Alaskans WON'T want to see their votes be meaningless. So they'll vote Peltola in #2026Midterms! #AKsen

Thanks. Glad to see the names of DOJ lawyers who filed this (as opposed to just refs to DOJ): Stanley E. Woodward, Jr E. Bryan Wilson I‘d wish every mention of such cases mentioned names of folks who deserve fame.

For one, this should have been thrown out in the filing process because preemptive filings are junk and the only purpose here is politically-motivated interference.

If I am remembering correctly, SCOTUS recently overturned a federal judge ruling because the action had not yet taken place. I think SCOTUS said the decision could only be made after, not before. Then, DHS released the plan and the same judge reengaged a ruling. How can they preempt here?

Ugh. Reporting this will bring attention to it which will lead to more initial scrutiny which will lead to aiding their cause. Even if the lawsuit goes nowhere, this brings attention to the matter before the election which will help them.

It'll be thrown out for standing. No harm has been done. It's the voters choice, and responsibility. The feds didn't administer elections. This is a giant waste of taxpayer money. It's intimidation and a ridiculous attempt to subvert democracy.

Aside from all the other obvious problems, the Republicans never had a problem in Florida when they ran a candidate against the Democrat with the same name.

Clearly the fascist dictatorship is working with a purpose. Fascism cannot exist alongside a Democrat Republic. If they can force the election outcome they want, they can be closer to single party rule under the dictator.
