BREAKING: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has signed his aggressive gerrymander into law. It could net Republicans four more seats in Congress ahead of the 2026 midterms. Litigation challenging the measure is expected imminently. https://bit.ly/4n5ySie

Gerrymandering can be defeated by voter turnout!! I would invite all Floridians who are not cult-followers to take a look at best overall gubernatorial candidate Florida has had in more than 20-years…. Florida needs center-leaning David Jolly!!!

Ron DeSantis needs to stay in power for the same reasons that Trump, Netanyahu and Putin. If he does not, both him and his wife will go to jail for massive frauds.

👉 Yet, the Republicans STILL intend to go after Blue States who are in the process of redrawing, or intend to redraw, their districts in order to enhance the number of Democrat candidates at midterm.

It is unsurprising that a party led by a man convicted of 34 felonies for covering up election cheating has to cheat to maintain power. The response from decent Americans must be simple: do not vacation in FL and do not retire there. Make them pay for their hubris.

It is not as though gerrymandering did not exist before but in this new era we need to start calling the form of government something other than representative, democracy, and constitutional. Naming it properly will help those who are in denial understand where things stand and what is next.

Agreed. If it’s as easy as drawing maps around certain demographics, then it’s the morality of the demographics that’s the problem. Gerrymandering doesn’t work unless the voting block is irredeemable. Let’s call America what it is; a corrupt, failed state. Calling it a democracy is a lie.

With 30% of the voters being registered Democrats and 25% being Independents, this could actually cause the Republicans to lose seats. We could see more districts around Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa and all down the eastern part of South Florida vote in Democrats. Fingers crossed! Dumb move, Ron!

And with a state Supreme Court packed partisan apparatchiks masquerading as judges, this flagrant admission of political gerrymandering will move forward even though it violates the FL constitution, because laws aren’t real, only power and the exercise of it are. Dems would do well to remember it

Florida now looks like a penis because of DeSantis. "Dummymandering" or the mapmakers spread their supporters too thin, creating multiple competitive seats that may fall to the opposing party during a wave election.

Gerrymandering fascinates me. It says volumes about the lack of understanding and intelligence of the electorate. If all Republicans need to do is ask themselves “where are the stupidest, most racist cult members concentrated?”, then draw a map favoring that, and it works, Americans are the problem.
