The new @drubie.bsky.social video on Final Fantasy IX is out! www.youtube.com/watch?v=7a1j... Like all his videos, it's full of BTS insights and fantastic interpretations. Showing so well why Square was amongst the best storytellers. Great watch and also (Re 3:10:00) we love you too, Andrew!

I finished FF9! Including the superbosses! A few achievements are still up, but I'm not sure if I will tackle them (I'm interested in trying Excalibur II, but can't be arsed to kill 10000 enemies). What do you think I should play next? Final Fantasy VII OG? Final Fantasy VIII? #finalfantasy

If it helps, I enjoyed 7 more than 8 and 9 ;)

I'm 5 hours in and I think I'll stick with it. It's on my bucket list to finish it for more than 25 years, so why not finally get it going? :-) But the German translation is atrocious. Not necessarily the script (which has some flaws), but it's so full of bugs it's ridiculous.

I recently tackled my highly ranked backlog item Chrono Trigger. I suppose you played but if you haven’t, wow, that was truly a game to awe over.

Funny that you mention Chrono Trigger, because my first walkthrough that I wrote was one of the first German Chrono Trigger walkthroughs 😅 web.archive.org/web/20010126... I guess without that one I wouldn't be in Web Dev today :-)

I recently replayed it because of the 30th anniversary. Still holds up great! Good pacing, exciting locations, and just fun to experience. The German translation is also quite good!
