Let’s go!

I wanted to finish it before its birthday, and I didn't. But that's alright. I'm exactly where I left 24 years ago. At the beginning of Disc 4, before the final dungeon. But I took my time. 50 hours in and still so many side quests to solve. Pretty sure I'll finish it by the end of this week.

The esoteric side quests are my favourite part of FFIX. The game's battle speed is atrociously slow and almost half of the party members (Freya, Amarant, Quina) have very little to do in the story. Also not a big fan of the Trance and equipment skill systems. Great OST and graphics, though!

Still a good game, though! I used to think more highly of it until I replayed it somewhat recently after over 20 years. Better than 2/3 of the SNES Final Fantasies.
