Hope you'll write about your experience if you do decide to switch :) I've got my Forgejo setup on a Pikapod. The price is good/fair but I suppose with Hetzner (or similar) I'd be able to customize it even more.

I moved my company to a self hosted forgejo and Im very happy! Interface is super snappy and maintenance has been very smooth (running on FreeBS). m also running forge actions for CI (in bare metal mode) and its equally pleasant. FWIW from a random internet guy 😀 codeberg people are also friendly

I should probably consider this as my homeserver tailscale node went down and I'm out of town and can't fix it for a few days 😅 That or a KVM that I can power on/off over the network because it's totally a "did you try turning it off an on again" situation

Stuck mine on an OVH box a few months ago, it's been flawless.
