Why is the Pope weighing in any different than Franklin Graham, Paula White, Joe Rogan or Vladimir Putin saying what they think American policy should be? I'm not an advocate of any of the above but that doesn't mean they can't urge their followers to support their views.

I mean I don't even think the pope is saying what american policy should be. He's just saying that if you wage war and say god's on your side he isn't.

I think Hegseth, at least, considers this a holy war as a matter of policy. I guess Hegseth, Vance, Rubio... are uncomfortable ignoring him. They're in their happy place when threatening people.
