There are a handful of days per year in Halifax that cycling is truly impractical. The rest are up to @hfxgov.bsky.social and, unfortunately, @nsgov.bsky.social more and more. I say this as someone who gets cold very easily. I use heated gloves when it gets below 0 or so.

Hey. Hi. Hello. In the latest HFX By Bike I talk about winter cycling in Halifax. With weather data, international bike counter comparisons and fit checks. youtu.be/ftOroV7XZz8?...

Both @bikehfxlobby.bsky.social and I have gotten comments about what we wear when riding during rain/cold, as if it’s special. I’d be wearing the same stuff if I was walking, minus my helmet.

You might be underestimating how willing people who ask such questions are to walk when it's raining, which I find really sad. I think experiencing rain is really important for connecting to the world you live in.

I think I'm going to need to get some ski goggles this winter. My eyes water like crazy in the cold wind & my glasses don't do a lot to block it. What's worse is when I'm wearing mascara & the lenses get smudged, & I can't see.
